unexpected kindness from the staff
The warm welcome at Hotel Gabarda was unforgettable. A friendly barman made the best cocktails, and I fell in love with the spacious balcony view, perfect for relaxing evenings.
While the room was generally clean, I discovered the mattress was quite firm, which made my sleep less restful than I hoped. Wi-Fi was spotty on the second floor.

During my stay, I had a lovely breakfast cooked to order every day. The staff welcomed us and made us feel at home, especially Antonio, who always had a smile and made us laugh. The outdoor pool area was nice for relaxing after visiting the beach, just a short walk away. I enjoyed my time and appreciated the hospitality.
The bathroom layout was a little cramped, and I found the mattress on the harder side, which interrupted my sleep at times.

The service was impeccable with friendly staff always ready to help (shoutout to the bar staff! ). Enjoyed lounging by the outdoor swimming pool and the beach is just a quick stroll away. Car hire was super convenient for exploring the area too.
Although overall clean, the housekeeping could be a bit more consistent, particularly with surfaces during the busy hours.

During my stay, the staff consistently impressed with their attentiveness. I particularly enjoyed the cleanliness of my room and the high-quality breakfasts they offered. Though the room had minor noise disturbances, it didn’t hinder my overall experience at this delightful hotel, close to the beach.

The rooms are well-maintained and cleaned daily, which makes for a pleasant stay. Located just a five-minute walk from the beach and promenade, it's easy to soak up the sun or grab a bite nearby. Plus, the small pool is adequate and well-placed for some afternoon relaxation.
The layout of the bathroom leaves much to be desired—room 202 had a huge shower taking up so much space that the massive sink ended up in front of the toilet, making it quite a tight squeeze to maneuver. the Wi-Fi performance was miserable. I could barely maintain a connection on the second floor unless I was right by the door. If you plan to open the balcony for a breeze, don't forget the nosey neighbors peering in, which means keeping the curtains drawn and missing out on natural light. Breakfast may be decent, but it felt repetitive with the same offerings each day, significantly lacking in variety.

The premium double room offered a free mini fridge, air conditioning, and a spacious balcony perfect for unwinding. Breakfast was freshly made to order, and the beach lay just a short stroll away, making it ideal for quick dips in the sun.
The bathroom lacked adequate storage options, leading to soap and shampoo being left on the floor. My mattress leaned toward the firm side, impacting my comfort, and while the pool area felt a bit small for the number of guests, it sufficed for some afternoon relaxation. Wi-Fi performance dropped often, which made planning outings a bit frustrating, especially for the tech-inclined.

I really loved my time at Gabarda in Palma Nova. The location is perfect, just a quick stroll from the beach. The hotel feels fresh and clean. my room was bright and spacious. I appreciated the keenness of the housekeepers, as my room stayed tidy throughout my 4-night visit. Christine’s breakfasts were a highlight— huge selection, and freshly cooked to order. The bar area was nice. the prices for drinks were reasonable, a great place to unwind after a day at the beach. The pool area is a bit small, but it’s great for lounging, especially with those delicious cocktails. I did notice the mattress on one side of the bed was very hard— definitely an area needing improvement. It affected my sleep a bit, especially on the harder side. Wi-Fi wasn’t great in my room either. it dropped out often, really inconvenient. But overall, my stay was enjoyable, and I’d consider returning as I felt welcomed by the staff. Just a couple of minor points to consider would make it even better.
